Automatic Maintenance Windows 8 and 8.1 is Annoying? Here is How to Disable It.

Automatic maintenance is a built-in feature in windows 8 and 8.1 that automatically start when your PC is in idle state or at it's schedule time. Automatic maintenance will maintains and optimize your computer. This feature still need user's consideration while enabled.

Points to consider :

1. Add more processing amount
2. You need to keep your PC on
3. It never ask user whenever it will start

We recommended you to disable the automatic maintenance to avoid processing overhead. After you disable the automatic maintenance, you can manually optimize your PC by initializing the disk defragmentation, CHKDSK command, etc.

In order to disable the automatic maintenance in your PC, you need to follow these step :


STEPS :

  1. Log in to your windows8/8.1 using administrator account.
  2. From the Start screen, hover your mouse to the bottom-right corner of the screen to see the charm bar.


  3. Click Search in the charm bar.
  4. Type Schedule Tasks in the search field.


  5. Click Schedule Tasks that show below the search field.
  6. When the new window comes up, locate and select to Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > Task Scheduler from the left pane.


  7. Right click Idle Maintenance task in the middle pane.
  8. Click Disable.


  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for Reguler Task.
  10. Once done, close the Task Scheduler window and restart your computer the make the change.
